Jingdong Announce New Partnerships As It Continues Its Expansion

JD.com, aka Jingdong, is China’s largest online retailer as well as that nation’s largest overall retailer. They sell a vast array of products such as fresh food, electronics, clothing, jewelry, and cosmetics. They can get a packaged delivered on the same day or next throughout that nation. Jingdong has been expanding into other Asian countries recently. This includes Vietnam where they have invested in that country’s top B2C e-commerce firm, Tiki. They have also partnered with Thailand’s Central Group and they are launching a new Southeast Asia platform called”JD CENTRAL. People could first shop at this website on September 28th. The sales on this online platform have exceeded expectations.

JD.com says that 80 percent of the people using JD CENTRAL have accessed it via their mobile phones. They are offering same-day delivery in Bangkok which is Thailand’s capital. They have also placed warehouses at strategic locations around Thailand so that customers can get very quick delivery of their orders. JD CENTRAL’s chief executive officer, Vincent Yang, issued a statement saying that his company was thrilled to continue to expand its service across Southeast Asia. He said that the partnership between Jingdong and Central Group will leed to Thai customers having a great experience including having the knowledge that what they buy is 100 percent authentic.

JD.com has also partnered with San Miguel. This is the Southern Hemisphere’s top supplier of citrus. Jingdong said that they are establishing a new initiative called the “Global Fruit Strategic Alliance“. Their goal is to get Chinese people to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition to San Miguel, this initiative also involves 18 other major fruit and vegetable producers such as Wonderful Citrus and Zespri. This produce will be sold through Jingdong Fresh and will help this company’s partners gain greater access to the Chinese marketplace. San Miguel’s Commercial Manager Andres Haloua said that she was proud of this new JD.com initiative and his company looked forward to supplying quality produce to Chinese consumers. He said this partnership also showed that his company is a leader when it comes to delivering fresh fruits.
